152nd Kentucky Derby Poster – May 2, 2026

By Artist Grayson Reynolds

Grayson Reynolds – Official Artist – 152nd Kentucky Derby

  • I was born and raised in Glasgow, Kentucky.
  • The first Kentucky Derby I ever attended was the 142nd and now, ten years later, I’m beyond honored to be the artist for the 152nd Kentucky Derby. We sat in Section 111 that day, and I stayed from the moment the gates opened until the last race. I loved being near the paddock, surrounded by the color, the excitement, and the energy under the Twin Spires. That day truly stayed with me; it’s part of what inspired the artwork I created for this incredible event.
  • I attended Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and graduated in 2021 with a degree in Interior Design. I’ve always seen interior design and art as deeply connected. In design, you’re shaping emotion through a three-dimensional space; in art, you’re expressing it on paper. For me, both are about arranging color, texture, and movement to create something that makes people feel something real.
  • For the Derby artwork, my goal was to showcase what makes Churchill Downs so iconic: the Twin Spires. They’re the first thing you see as you approach, and they set the tone for the entire day. I wanted them to rise into the sky with a sense of anticipation. The horses are painted large and powerful, with roses bursting up from the dirt to represent the speed and emotion of the Run for the Roses.
  • Creating the official artwork for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks has been the most meaningful project of my life. To think that a little girl from Glasgow who picked horses with her grandma would one day be part of Derby history, it’s beyond my wildest dreams.
  • This project is more than art; it’s about family, tradition, and the emotions that connect us all. I hope when people see these pieces, they feel the joy, the excitement, and the shared spirit that make the Derby one of the most special days of the year.
  • Measures 22″ x 30″
  • Matte 30 lb.
